Do not Wreck

Well here's another Emry bed/sleeping post. I guess this should be the last one or they won't be very funny anymore. So lastnight Avlynne said to me "mom you have to come see this". Again, I was tired but went to see what she was talking about. I walked in to see Emry and her new creation of a bed. I will never know what posesses her to do this. I did like to sleep in weird/small spaces as a child but don't remember doing it this often or creating my own beds like she does. Here's the pic.

So that was lastnight, then today after school I hear Emry telling Avlynne to write something for her. This is the warning...

I guess she wasn't too happy that William moved her to her bed, and took apart the bed. So she didn't want me to "wreck" it tonight. It's a circus around here.

MIA

I know, I know, but wait here come the excuses...:) William was working all weekend, and then went to Anchorage for training on Monday and Tuesday. This left me to tend to the girls all by my lonesome. Walking up the stairs is getting very tiring, and if they go upstairs just to use the bathroom one more time! Well, I don't know. They might just have to wipe themselves, but then again that's just another chore later on, baths. Ugh

Anyhoo, I do finally feel like I'm back in the swing of things after I upset my bulging discs, and then fell. I worked out last week and two times this week so far. Either that or going to the chiropractor is helping my pain at night. Thank the LORD! Don't get me wrong, I still want sympathy because it does still hurt! :)- But not to the point that I feel my bones and flesh are ripping apart. And of course there's still the popping and weird noises while I walk to the bathroom that can't be good for a body to do every night.

Here's a funny story:
William comes home last night
He had told them he got surprises for them, so Avlynne is ALL excited and wants to go stand by the fireplace with their backs turned. William tells them to do that, and Avlynne says, oh yes our traditional way!
They get their surprises, blah, blah blah. Oh except Emry doesn't like her coloring book for awhile, throws a fit. Well, she darn well like that hunting coloring book after I learn how much he paid for it! 5 bucks, and it's not thick either! Anyhoo,
She was coloring a picture of a python. She says to me "mom this python was made in the olden days." Avlynne chimes in, " Emry, God made the python, and don't forget that!" Emry, " I know A-LYNNE! But it was made in the sixties when they said muchas and mucha." Avlynne and I just look at each other and smile.

Tonight we went to Avlynne's school for an art show. They displayed some of their latest art work, taught by Artist Sheyla Dobson. I should have brought my camera. I just loved one peice of Avlynne's that had a horse running head on. She's quite the artist. After we looked at all the wonderful peices we then went to the gym and made some artwork of our own. One thing was really cool. You drew a picture (really hard) on a peice of styrofoam. Rolled on paint, and then put a blank peice of paper on top of the styrofoam and rolled a heavy roller on the top. So it's kind of an inverted painting. I've taken pictures to share! How wonderful! :)-

Here's William's (obviously the drawing ability that Avlynne has comes from him)

And Avlynne's

Emry's Sun (I drew her lovely house for her)
And last but not least Mine! My old backup mountains! This is like the only thing I drew in school.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. While going through the pictures on Avlynne's camera I noticed that she had all these closeup shots of William's things. She was also taking a bunch of pictures of William. I told her I saw them and she said that she was going to make a photo journal of William and his things. I thought this was interesting. She really did capture a lot of his things, and the best part is his tendencies are caught in photographs now. Like hanging his shirts or coat on the back of the dining room chairs or laying his baseball hats all around the house. I have a feeling that Avlynne will bring a lot to this family of ours...

Day 17 ( Is William really from Alaska?)

Because this is REALLY redneckish! He is aspiring to make the girls jeep into a snow plowing machine. He started today with the "studs".

Emry was getting some really good gription on the pure ice (thanks to the 40 degree weather we had for a couple days). Sad thing is I actually think it's really cool. I mean that's a pretty rockin cool dad that will spend his Saturday workin on his kids power wheels. Either that or he's got some REALLY weird issues! Can't you just see Emry plowing some white stuff with her pink jeep. I mean she'll be the envy of the neighbor hood. Girl Power!! :)

P.S. Yes, this is the jeep she was going to drive down the side of the road till she found me when I fell (see earlier post).

Day 17

I'm baaaack! Today was a lazy day for me. I have been having trouble sleeping so I do get really tired during the day. That and it's third trimester time so inevitably I will be getting that sleepy sensation more and more unfortunately. Here's some new pics of me. There's a nice one and a sour face one. Not sure why I was making that face, but do know it's probably something you've seen me do many times so I thought I would include it! My sisters who miss me can get a little dose of me even if we aren't "together"! Without further ado here's my ever expanding waistline. I do believe I might get as big as I was with Emry! Hopefully it will be as easy as a birth. This is almost 29 weeks.

Day 14

Were back on track, for today that is! The first pictures are of Avlynne reading to Emry. Of course by the time I got the camera out Emry was keen on what I was doing, so then she didn't want to sit there. She went and got this picture she made at church and wanted a picture of that. Just so you can all see it I've included it in the post. I guess it is a little far away but whatever. Then Emry didn't really want to sit down again and listen (I promise they were having a good time I just didn't capture it). So that's why the face.

William might have hope for Avlynne after all. She's never been the go help dad in garage kind of girl that Emry is. But apparently with all these guns we've had floating around lately she must have been taking notes. This was Avlynne's gift to William for Christmas. Too bad we forgot to give it to him on the day! I am very impressed. She just whipped this out in about 5-7 mins. No one helped her. I swear she has photographic memory! Even the angles are right. Of course this is hanging proudly in William's office at work.

Emry to the rescue!

My mother mentioned to me that I didn't tell the story of Emry trying to come save me after I fell.

Here's the scenario: William at home watching Emry and her "twin" (born on the same day, same year) sister, Ellie.

William gets a phone call from me telling him I had fallen and that I wasn't sure if I was ever going to be the same again. :)

William tells the girls to be quiet that mommy had fallen on the ice and he needed to hear me talking on the phone.

Emry and Ellie go downstairs at which point they proceed to get their boots and coats on (remember this was last Wednesday when it was still -25.

William hears Emry say to Ellie, "when my dad finds out we are gone, we're gonna be in big trouble!"

William goes downstairs to find the girls heading out of the driveway going to look for me!

Emry does tell me later that she was going to take the pink jeep (battery powered hot wheels) but it was covered with snow. And that they were going to stay on the side of the road until they found me. She did one of those funny faces I shared a couple days ago while telling me this.

Really I appreciate the thought Emry but please don't go trekking out by yourself in below zero temps!

She has really become concerned with me and the baby though. She hugs and kisses my belly all the time, and talks to it. Her favorite thing is to talk or touch my belly and say "did she hear/feel that"?

I have a feeling next school year might be very interesting with her.

Day 13

This is the sight I walked past tonight when going to bed. I was forewarned by Avlynne, but I really try to block out most of the things the girls say after 8:00 and they are in bed. William says Avlynne was trying to tell me that Emry was making a fort. I figured it was with some toys or something. This child ALWAYS has something new for me! I don't know what was in her head. It brought a smile to my face, and I hope it does yours too.

I just realized that most of you are going to wonder why I didn't say anything about her sleeping on the floor. I guess it has become such a rare thing that she actually sleeps in her bed I didn't even think of talking about it. She prefers to sleep on the floor, she goes back and forth every couple months. It really is a little frustrating because she thinks her "bed" is the whole blanket covered floor, and when Avlynne steps on it or tries to play in her room, she gets in trouble with Emry. Also there is the stepping on the head, and hair at night issue. Just another one of her little quirks. Have a great day!

Day 12

Yes, I've missed a couple days. But I've resigned myself to the fact that most is better than none (does that sentence even make sense). Whatever you get the drift.

Today's picture is one of Avlynne's papers from school. She brings home a journal with a question for her parents every Friday. It used to be to the both of us, but seeing how William is much cooler than I she has started to only write them to him. Sigh.

In cooler I mean that he can answer her questions much better than I. She usually writes about what they've been learning that week and then asks us what we know about that same topic. This past week it was sound. Mostly my answers would consist of me saying I didn't know much and that I was very proud of her. William's answers are much, much different. He's so smart he rattles on and on about the subject. Don't tell him, but when I read it sometimes I learn something too!

So the main reason I posted a picture of this is to show off her amazing handwriting. At least I think it is for a second grader. She can definitely write sloppy when she doesn't try but when she puts forth the effort it's very good. Maybe I'm crazy but what's a mom supposed to be? Nothing less than completely and utterly amazed at their children...

My ehm hmm bottom hurts...

I fell at Avlynne's school today. It really hurt. Not so much where I fell but in my (excuse me for a second) pelvic joints. I hit on my right hip but it sent this awful pain into my bottom.
Many of you know I have a lot of pain already there. I can hardly walk right. So don't laugh when you see me if I'm still affected. I hate to waddle already!

Day 9

Apparantly Emry REALLY likes tuna. William had made some halibut spread for lunch. She ate more than a fair portion for her age, then asked for more tuna. I told her that was enough that it was all gone, but that she could have somethine else. Well she proceeded to open the fridge and take some things out. William and I were laughing about it. When he walked in the kitchen a little later he saw she had gotten out a few more things. Atleast she's self sufficient.
Later on I caught her in the fridge again. I asked her what she was doing. She answered that she wanted some orange juice. She had a pitcher with some liquid in it. I said no this is all gone (there was previously juice in this pitcher). There was some liquid in it though. I asked her what was in there. She showed me the bottle of lemon juice. Oh my, what shall I do with her. She was going to make her own juice I guess. So self sufficient, attentive, and not afraid to try something new, the definition of little Emry Don.

Day 7

Enough already! Seriously if this low pressure, high pressure thing doesn't work itself out soon I'm going to go loco. Poor teachers, the kids haven't gone out for recess almost all week. I guess people are still shopping for groceries though because on Monday afternoon Freddies was conveniently out of all the sale items! And their sale starts on Sundays. But that's another post I guess. I really need some eggs but I just can't bring myself to go to the store just for that.

Here's a picture that William took this morning on his way to work.

I really do Thank the Lord for a warm home (even though our pipes were frozen this morning). And a garage!

Day 6

Here's another post about Emry. She's been making these really funny faces while talking lately. So while these might just look like weird, funny faces to you, they are actually real. For instance, she might be saying, "what was she doing?" While making one of these faces. I had to capture them before they disappear. And a side note, Avlynne has been talking to Emry about going to school next fall and Emry is set on staying home with the baby and I so we won't be lonely.
How sweet...

Day 5

Haircut time!

I've been wanting to get Emry's hair cut for awhile now. It's just become such a battle to brush it lately. It gets so knotty. She would go back and forth on whether she wanted it cut or not. Well, today was a yes day, so we went for it! She's kind of got a funny expression. She makes a lot of those lately! Will I miss the pigtails? YES, of course. She's almost 5 so I guess it was time for a change anyhow.
Oh, and Avlynne's hair appt is on Thursday. We'll see how short she let's me go this time!

For a little side by side comparison. Here's Avlynne at 5 with the same haircut

Here's Emry a year ago. Best picture of the tails I have I think. Sniff, Sniff,
no remorse, it'll grow back. Right?

Day 4- Nesting?

Waayyy to early to be nesting, but between New Years day cleaning and today there's definitly something going on. Most of you know I'm not that anal about the cleaning around here. Although I've been thinking how nice it would be to clean the floors without any obstacles. Actually, I wish often that I could move out and move back in, just to get that deep down clean again! Ok, now I'm just rambling but that's what a blog is really about right? So here's some pictures of the nice clean floors. Of course Avlynne was clearing her spot at dinner time and dropped her dirty fork right on it! Such is life.

P.S. This means I'm done for the week right? :)

Day 3

My favorite people in the world! They are making up a new song. It's about a horse, I think...

Friday, January 2, 2009

Hey again, just to be clear I did take the sunrise picture yesterday. Now I didn't take this next picture, nor was it taken today. But hey, atleast I'm posting, and I figured friends who don't here might want to see me! Avlynne recieved a camera for Christmas this year. She's been capturing all sorts of different things. And I was one of them. It really was quite funny to download the card. She had a couple friends over these last few days and had taken pictures of them. I'm excited to see what she captures in the next few months. A picture really is worth a thousand words! See you tomorrow.

365 Days In Pictures

Welcome! I thought it might be fun to document our family's life through a blog. I've had one through the photography business for awhile but never put a lot of personal stuff on it. With another little girl on the way I've got to keep the happenings of everyday Wolverton life documented. We've already cut way back on video since having Emry. I don't want to forget all the little things that happen along the way.

So I thought I would start with a little project to keep me focused. 365 pictures! A picture a day. Join me if you want!

So, yes I'm already a day late. So goes life! It's actually ok with me because William and I accompished a lot yesterday! We took all the christmas stuff down, cleaned out the baby room and put away most of my photography props. Sniff, sniff.

So here's yesterdays picture. And I'll be back later for today's.

P.S. I'm not great at grammer so this is my one and only apology!
